    Paulsdale

Paulsdale is a National Historic Landmark honoring the birthplace of suffragist and equal rights activist Alice Stokes Paul (1885-1977). Once a 173-acre farm managed by the Paul family, the two-story farmhouse has stood sentinel on Hooton Road for over 200 years. An excellent example of an adaptive reuse of an historic site, Paulsdale is now the headquarters of the Alice Paul Institute, which offers self-guided and guided tours of the permanent exhibition and the remaining 6.5 acres of land in addition to programs around leadership development, civic engagement, and the history of women’s suffrage.
