Dr. James Still Historic Office and Education Center

The Dr. James Still Historic Office Site and Education Center preserves the legacy of Dr. James Still, known as the Black Doctor of the Pines, through educational programming. Dr. James Still was born in 1812 in Indian Mills, New Jersey, to former enslaved Africans from the state of Maryland. Despite being a self-educated man born into poverty, Dr. Still became one of the wealthiest men of his time in Burlington County. Tour the Education Center to learn about the life and legacy of Dr. James Still and walk the nearby nature trail.
