    Batsto Village

Batsto Village is a former bog iron and glassmaking industrial center dating back to the mid-1700s that reflects both agricultural and commercial enterprises that existed there during the late nineteenth century. The Pine Barren village consists of 33 historic buildings and structures, including the Batsto Mansion, a gristmill, sawmill, general store and post office. Nestled in Wharton State Forest, which is the largest single tract of land within the New Jersey State Park System, visitors are welcome to explore 18 buildings and take a guided tour of the mansion.
