Thomas B. Connolly, R.A., AIA, is the Principal Architect for Connolly & Hickey Historical Architects, located in Cranford, NJ. Tom has a Bachelor of Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and has worked in the preservation of historic buildings since 1994. As principal of Connolly & Hickey since 2003, he has guided the firm in their efforts to restore, rehabilitate and adaptively use a variety of historic resources with specific focuses on New Jersey’s industrial and transportation-related historic resources. Some recent projects of the firm that have received recognition include a Preservation New Jersey’s 2024 Preservation Craftmanship Award for Lock 2 East of the Morris Canal, a 2024 Design Gold Award in Historic Preservation for Folly’s of the Morris Canal from AIA Newark & Suburban Architects, and the 2022 Design Merit for Excellence in Architecture for the Lake Hopatcong Train Station from AIA New Jersey.
