Welcome to the New Jersey History and Historic Preservation Conference

Peter Galloway

Peter Galloway’s passion and expertise lies with the Building and Decorative Arts from the 18th century, which blossomed from his family ties to Charleston, SC and his love for the low-country and coastal Georgia area. His preservation journey started with a circa 1884 Italianate house in Savannah, GA ten years ago. Notable projects completed since then are the dismantling of a circa 1693 Center Chimney house from East Hartford CT and reassembly of it along-side his 1884 Italianate. His most recent project was the complete exterior restoration of a circa 1871 Second Empire Row house in Savannah. This included the stripping of all extant woodwork to the bare wood and applying solely Linseed Oil Paint. Peter now has over 10 years of preservation work under his belt including designing period elements, linseed painting, plaster work to name a few. Peter’s projects have been featured in Southern Living, Old House Journal and Yankee Magazine.
